In the above mentioned case, Abercrombie & Fitch was accused of giving sales floor employment preference to attractive-looking white men over minority workers.

Bel Marra Health Reports on Recent Research Revealing Prolonged Life Using Bile (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) August 15, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a recent study revealing a slowed aging process with bile.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/the-secret-to-extending-your-lifespan-bile) humans have constantly been searching for a way to increase longevity and our quality of life. As science and technology becomes more advanced, scientists are beginning to discover new ways for people achieve better health and live longer. A recent study conducted by Vladimir Titorenko, Research Chair in Genomics at Concordia University, has found an unexpected substance that may increase human lifespan bile.

Vladimir Titorenko and his team tested over 19,000 different small molecules to determine if they were able to increase the average lifespan of yeast. During the study they noted that LCA (Lithocholic Acid), an acid found in bile, had a drastic effect on the way that the yeast aged. This positive outcome showcased the potential for extending the longevity of a living organism.

Lithocholic acid, one of the main acids found in bile, exhibited many features that would suggest it was the main reason that the yeast was able to live longer. The LCA interacted with two different aspects of the yeast. The first interaction was automatic and it occurred regardless of the amount of calories found in the yeast. As for the second reaction, it showed calorie-restriction due to stressor proteins. With the combination of these two interactions, the aging process of the yeast drastically slowed.

The recent findings gave scientists a new insight into prolonged life. With the information gathered from the study, Titorenko has explained that the next step is to determine whether bile can affect other species. There has been past evidence of bile being beneficial to certain species, such as rodents. In mice, bile assists with pancreatic functions and liver functions. The mice that have bile have been known to experience good health and longevity. With that being said, further research needs to be conducted to prove the benefits of bile in humans.

With the characteristics showcased in the yeast study, scientists believe that the LCA found in bile can greatly assist with some of the most common diseases known to humans. Diabetes, metabolic issues, and obesity may have the opportunity to be treated with the assistance of LCA. Considering that LCA helps to slow down the aging process and all of the aforementioned health issues, this discovery could be quite advantageous for the majority of the population to live longer and in good health.

Every person in the world contemplates methods that they can use to help themselves live longer. Whether they are suffering from a difficult disease such as diabetes, or even if they are casually curious, the question still remains: what can be done to live a longer life? The recent finding from Titorenkos study puts the science community closer to answering that question. With the anti-aging effects experienced from LCA, people may soon be living longer, healthier lives.

Mask Up – Record Number Of Men Buying Face Lift Without Surgery Masks Helping Sales Surge To Record Levels Reports Liberty Health Network, LLC. Twitter Updates at @GoLHN (amazon) (shopzilla)

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 07, 2012

Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth, said Oscar Wilde. Obviously, Wilde never encountered the Face Lift Without Surgery Mask by Beau Visage from Liberty Health Network. As sales would indicate, women and men are flocking to the product to turn back the hands of time, at least in the eyes of onlookers. By looking younger, many customers feel their options for everything from romance to employment are enhanced.

A few years ago, if you said I would be selling a Non Surgical Face Lift Mask, I would have said you are crazy. If you would have said I would be using one, I would have been convinced you were crazy! said LHN Chief Operating Officer Russell Bly. I am not alone either. Many men are using the products we hear. Looking older and distinguished now seems passe. Nobody wants to be the last to be hired or promoted, or the first to be laid off because of appearance. While it may never really make the official employment transcripts, is there really any doubt that someone who looks younger and healthier has the advantage in employment? asks Bly.

The numbers tell the story, Says Tracy Grevert, Chief Financial Officer with LHN. Our Non Surgical Face Lift Mask and related products are now our top sellers. And while we’ve seen phenomenal growth, the real story is in demographics. Last year, women over the age of 50 were our number one customer group. Today while the number 50+ year old customers is holding steady, we seeing a huge increase in the 40-50 year-old group. Additionally, men are accounting for an astonishing number of sales. In February, Non Surgical Face Lift Mask sales to men totaled a whopping 40,. said Grevert.

The news is great for LHN, with an impressive array of anti aging skin care and nutritional supplements. With estimates that by 2030 the 65-plus population will double to about 71.5 million, and by 2050 will grow to 86.7 million people, the marketplace for anti aging skin care and nutritional supplements is truly explosive.

Bel Marra Health Reports on a New Study Revealing Positive Health Benefits of Nicotine (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 28, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a new study that found that foods that naturally produce nicotine may decrease the risk of Parkinsons disease.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/brain-function/can-nicotine-prevent-parkinsons-disease/), fierce anti-smoking campaigns have been sweeping across North America in the past twenty years. As a result, many people are aware of the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine. However, a new study has recently shown that nicotine could have some positive effects on our health as well.

Nicotine is a chemical produced in the roots and leaves of plants in the nightshade family (such as eggplants, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, etc), acting as a natural insecticide to protect the plants from scavenging insects. In humans, nicotine acts a stimulant and an addiction-forming chemical in tobacco. “Nicotine addiction has historically been one of the hardest addictions to break,” says the American Heart Association, and is blamed for mass increases of cardiovascular disease, strokes and cancer.

However, while smoking nicotine cigarettes has definitely been established as something negative to good health, a study recently published in the Annuals of Neurology has shown that perhaps we should have been eating it instead. The research found that eating foods from nicotine-producing plants (known as Solanceae) could lend significant protection against developing debilitating diseases such as Parkinsons disease.

Parkinsons disease is a neurodegenerative brain disorder that slowly progresses in most individuals, resulting from a loss of brain cells that produce dopamine. While there are many symptoms of Parkinsons disease, there are four main motor symptoms associated with the disease, including: shaking (tremor) at rest, slow movement (bradykinesia), stiffness of the trunk, upper and/or lower limbs, and trouble with balance (postural instability).

Parkinsons disease is not fatal; however, major complicated arise from this disease, and sufferers find it difficult to perform regular, every-day activities. At the present time, there is no cure for Parkinsons disease. In the meantime, researchers continue to look for ways of managing symptoms, as well as preventative strategies that can protect people from developing this debilitating disease.

Previous research has already shown promise regarding the association between tobacco and reduced incidences of Parkinsons disease. However, these studies were not able to pinpoint whether this relationship is due to actual nicotine, or whether it is due to another tobacco component. The newest study set out to discover the specific effects of nicotine containing foods, such as peppers, tomatoes and potatoes, on the development of Parkinsons disease.

Susan Searless Nielson, PhD., and her colleagues looked at 490 newly diagnosed patients with Parkinsons disease and 644 neurologically healthy individuals. The participants were given questionnaires that investigated their self-reported consumption of peppers, tomatoes, tomato juice, and potatoes during adulthood. Other factors such as consumption of other vegetables, age, sex, race, tobacco use and caffeine use were also controlled for.

The results showed that individuals who consumed a lot of nicotine containing foods had a significantly lower risk of developing Parkinsons disease. The same relationship was not seen when all vegetable sources were combined. The relationship was even more significant when looking at how pepper consumption affected Parkinsons disease.

It’s also interesting to note that the researchers found that the protective effects of nicotine foods were seen mainly in men and women who had little or no history of smoking.

While more research is needed to understand the implications from this study more fully, it opens up hopeful doors towards future dietary and natural preventative measures that can be developed in the face of this debilitating disease.

Bel Marra Health Reports on Recent Research: Dietary Intake of Calcium Should Be Reviewed Again After Discussions of Heightened Heart Attack Risk. (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) January 18, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, is reporting on recent research that outlines how the dietary intake of calcium should be reviewed again due to the potential of side effects.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/strontium-and-why-your-calcium-information-is-wrong/), while calcium supplements are commonly prescribed to post-menopausal women at risk of osteoporosis, possible side effects do exist when taking this supplement.

As the Bel Marra Health article reads, the role of calcium has been given much attention in the past few decades, resulting in the establishment of specific guidelines for its daily requirement. For instance, in the United States, the recommended calcium intake is 1,000 milligrams each day for younger adults, whereas in Europe, 800 mg per day is the suggested daily requirement for women within the age range of 50 to 65 years of age.

According to a recent medical report, the use of calcium supplements should be again reviewed because there is a possibility that its administration may result in calcium side effects. Based on the findings of the study published in Clinical Cases in Mineral and Bone Metabolism, calcium side effects may include a higher risk of heart attack, as well as an increased susceptibility for stroke or sudden death. These findings were summarized from 26 clinical trials involving adults who were taking 1,000 milligrams of calcium per day.

The medical report also described the findings of another study involving approximately 36,282 postmenopausal women who were taking 1,000 milligrams of calcium and 400 IU of vitamin D per day. In this study, a higher risk for heart attack was associated with the intake of calcium supplements in combination with vitamin D. To determine whether these calcium side effects were due to the use of two dietary supplements, the study examined the incidence of heart attack in a group that was given only vitamin D or calcium. Interestingly, the study showed that taking calcium by itself was associated with a higher risk of heart attack.

Spokesperson for Bel Marra Health Dr. Victor Marchione says, The findings of the medical report have emphasized the need to assess the use of calcium as a preventive measure against osteoporosis among the elderly. Although the use of calcium may lower the risk of hip fractures and other bone injuries among older adults, it is also important to consider other calcium side effects that may also develop at a later time.

The report also pointed out that the use of calcium is now widespread across the world and this is simply based on earlier knowledge that this mineral helps in strengthening bones and teeth. However, there is also a need to examine its interactions with other components of the body, including the activities of specific tissues and cells. The report thus presented the question of whether changes in dietary patterns are sufficient in improving the amount of calcium that enters the body.

The findings of this recent medical report have expressed the need to do further research on the benefits and risks of taking calcium pills on a daily basis.

Bel Marra Health Reports on a New Study Indicating Reduced Hot Flashes While on the Mediterranean Diet (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports a new study explaining the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet in reducing the likelihood of hot flashes.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/a-mediterranean-diet-that-reduces-hot-flashes/) people living along the Mediterranean coast have consumed diets rich in plant based foods without giving it much thought. Over the last decade, countless studies have shown that following a Mediterranean diet has the potential to protect us against the development of heart disease, certain cancers, particular neurological problems, diabetes, and obesity. In a recent study, Australian researchers now believe it can also help with hot flashes.

A hot flash is a short sensation of heat that can come at anytime during the menopause stage in a womans life. It can include sweats and even be accompanied by a red, flushed looking face. Some women experience a more rapid heart rate followed by chills. Night sweats can occur with hot flashes as well and often interfere with sleep. It can be a difficult and frustrating time in a womans life.

Mediterranean diets focus mainly on plant based foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts. Butter is normally replaced with healthier fats such as olive oil. Very little salt is used to flavor food, instead a mix of spices are added. Red meat is kept to a minimum; however, fish and lean poultry are consumed two or three times a week.

Fruits and vegetables are known to be packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These fresh foods included in Mediterranean diets have also been associated with a lower level of bad cholesterol; the type of cholesterol that is likely to build up deposits in arteries.

A recent study involving six thousand women who were monitored over nine years, showed the link between a Mediterranean diet and reduced occurrences of hot flashes. Those who closely followed the Mediterranean diet were 20 percent less likely to report hot flashes. Women who were in menopause and ate high-fat diets were 23 percent more likely to experience hot flashes and night sweats.

The study conducted in Australia through the University of Queensland could not specify exactly which foods prevent the flashes, but the researchers say that it is possible that low-fat diets help stabilize estrogen thus easing hot flashes. Eating a Mediterranean diet could also place blood sugar within a normal range, keeping symptoms of menopause to a minimum.

The authors of the study admit that not enough research has been done to start offering recommendations to women with menopause; however, they do remind people that a lot of research shows the Mediterranean-style diet has many health benefits. They say for this reason, adopting it at any point in life is a good idea.

While research continues in the connections between food and flashes, there are other steps women can take to lessen the burden. It may not be possible to completely eliminate hot flashes during menopause, but there are triggers that can cause them to occur more frequently. Doctors recommend avoiding the following during menopause:

DoctorsHealthPress.com Reports on Study Showing Specific Antioxidant Could Help Fight Wrinkles (amazon) (shopzilla)

Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 15, 2012

The Doctors Health Press, a publisher of various natural health newsletters, books and reports, including the popular online Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin, is reporting on study that has shown astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant that is part of the carotenoid family, could help protect the skin from signs of aging.

As reported in Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin on Monday, May 14, 2012 (http://www.doctorshealthpress.com/anti-aging/try-this-antioxidant-to-fight-wrinkles ), the theory is that astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant that fights free-radical damage, helping to banish wrinkles and age spots, while making you look younger as you age. Following this same train of thought, Japanese researchers performed two clinical studies.

The Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin article reports that one was a study involving 30 healthy female participants that lasted for eight weeks. Significant improvements in skin appearance were observed by combining an oral supplement with a topical application of astaxanthin each day. Participants showed improvements in crows feet (those wrinkles around your eyes), age spot size, skin elasticity, and skin texture and moisture content after the eight weeks.

The other study involved 36 healthy male participants for six weeks. The researchers found similar results for the men: crows feet wrinkle and skin elasticity improved, along with transepidermal water loss after six milligrams of astaxanthin daily supplementation. Moisture content and sebum oil level at the cheek zone also showed strong improvement. The research team concluded that astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis (a type of algae particularly rich in the carotenoid) may improve skin condition not only in women, but also in men.

The Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin article warns that there are conflicting reports about the safety of supplementing with astaxanthin long-term. There may be interactions with some drugs, as well as side effects (which could include yellow- or orange-colored skin, orange or red feces, unwanted hair growth, lowered calcium levels, decreased libido, and male breast enlargement, according to some sources).

Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant that is part of the carotenoid family. Astaxanthin is made from certain kinds of algae as well as other similar microorganisms. When shrimp or krill feed on algae, they store astaxanthin in their shells. Humans consume astaxanthin when eating some seafood.

Bel Marra Health Reports on New Research Revealing Food Elements to Reduce Cellulite (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) June 08, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a new study revealing a healthy diet containing certain elements can help to reduce cellulite.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/what-can-get-rid-of-that-nasty-cellulite) 80 percent of women in the western world have cellulite and many are desperate to find ways to get rid of it. There are all sorts of potions and lotions on the market that claim to help people get rid of those stubborn dimples on their thighs and buttocks. Scientists argue that there really is no quick fix. In fact, more and more experts believe that a balanced lifestyle is the best way to keep cellulite under control.

Cellulite is a dimpling or cottage cheese effect that skin displays due to the stretching of connective tissues around fat deposits. While many people believe that cellulite is associated with being overweight, research shows that even thin people can have it.

Scientists continue to study the safest and most cost-effective ways to treat cellulite. Interestingly, in recent years scientists have uncovered what they believe is a link between a nutritious diet and cellulite scores to help eliminate that bothersome appearance.

A study published in the U.S National Library of Medicine found that rubbing a spermine-trapping molecule on the thigh could help lower thigh cellulite scores. Spermine is found in a wide range of organism and tissues. It was first found in human semen, but most recently discovered in food. Ground meat, lunch meat, green peas, and cheddar cheese are good sources of food to add into a diet.

This isnt the only evidence that seems to connect diet with cellulite. An Italian study shows that a hormone known as adiponectin appears to act as protection against cellulite in the buttocks. The authors say if you want to keep levels of this hormone from dropping, the best approach is to maintain a good diet; a diet free of fried or fatty foods. Studies have demonstrated that switching to a vegetarian diet can increase adiponectin levels by as much as 19 percent.

Some medical professionals believe a diet rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties is a good way to prevent cellulite. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from weakening connective tissues that often lead to lumps and bumps in the skin. Foods that are high in antioxidants include blueberries, beans, and cranberries.

Doctor Howard Murad is one of the worlds leading experts on skin health. He recommends antioxidants to maximize skin health, including foods that contain vitamins A, C and E. He also suggests polyphenols and bioflavonoids. He calls them skin-nourishing. These nutrients can be found in leafy green vegetables, as well as fruits like oranges, pomegranates, and mangoes.

Murad and his supporters believe that dehydration can increase the appearance of cellulite. Staying hydrated and consuming foods rich in Omega-3, instead of fatty foods, can diminish the appearance of dimples. These meals might include fish, eggs, or omega-3 enriched yogurt.

While there is no magic cure for cellulite, recent research seems to suggest that a healthy diet and exercise can help firm up the skin and a smooth its appearance.
