Bel Marra Health Reports on Recent Research Revealing Prolonged Life Using Bile (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) August 15, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a recent study revealing a slowed aging process with bile.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/the-secret-to-extending-your-lifespan-bile) humans have constantly been searching for a way to increase longevity and our quality of life. As science and technology becomes more advanced, scientists are beginning to discover new ways for people achieve better health and live longer. A recent study conducted by Vladimir Titorenko, Research Chair in Genomics at Concordia University, has found an unexpected substance that may increase human lifespan bile.

Vladimir Titorenko and his team tested over 19,000 different small molecules to determine if they were able to increase the average lifespan of yeast. During the study they noted that LCA (Lithocholic Acid), an acid found in bile, had a drastic effect on the way that the yeast aged. This positive outcome showcased the potential for extending the longevity of a living organism.

Lithocholic acid, one of the main acids found in bile, exhibited many features that would suggest it was the main reason that the yeast was able to live longer. The LCA interacted with two different aspects of the yeast. The first interaction was automatic and it occurred regardless of the amount of calories found in the yeast. As for the second reaction, it showed calorie-restriction due to stressor proteins. With the combination of these two interactions, the aging process of the yeast drastically slowed.

The recent findings gave scientists a new insight into prolonged life. With the information gathered from the study, Titorenko has explained that the next step is to determine whether bile can affect other species. There has been past evidence of bile being beneficial to certain species, such as rodents. In mice, bile assists with pancreatic functions and liver functions. The mice that have bile have been known to experience good health and longevity. With that being said, further research needs to be conducted to prove the benefits of bile in humans.

With the characteristics showcased in the yeast study, scientists believe that the LCA found in bile can greatly assist with some of the most common diseases known to humans. Diabetes, metabolic issues, and obesity may have the opportunity to be treated with the assistance of LCA. Considering that LCA helps to slow down the aging process and all of the aforementioned health issues, this discovery could be quite advantageous for the majority of the population to live longer and in good health.

Every person in the world contemplates methods that they can use to help themselves live longer. Whether they are suffering from a difficult disease such as diabetes, or even if they are casually curious, the question still remains: what can be done to live a longer life? The recent finding from Titorenkos study puts the science community closer to answering that question. With the anti-aging effects experienced from LCA, people may soon be living longer, healthier lives.

Bel Marra Health Reports on a New Study Revealing Positive Health Benefits of Nicotine (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 28, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a new study that found that foods that naturally produce nicotine may decrease the risk of Parkinsons disease.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/brain-function/can-nicotine-prevent-parkinsons-disease/), fierce anti-smoking campaigns have been sweeping across North America in the past twenty years. As a result, many people are aware of the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine. However, a new study has recently shown that nicotine could have some positive effects on our health as well.

Nicotine is a chemical produced in the roots and leaves of plants in the nightshade family (such as eggplants, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, etc), acting as a natural insecticide to protect the plants from scavenging insects. In humans, nicotine acts a stimulant and an addiction-forming chemical in tobacco. “Nicotine addiction has historically been one of the hardest addictions to break,” says the American Heart Association, and is blamed for mass increases of cardiovascular disease, strokes and cancer.

However, while smoking nicotine cigarettes has definitely been established as something negative to good health, a study recently published in the Annuals of Neurology has shown that perhaps we should have been eating it instead. The research found that eating foods from nicotine-producing plants (known as Solanceae) could lend significant protection against developing debilitating diseases such as Parkinsons disease.

Parkinsons disease is a neurodegenerative brain disorder that slowly progresses in most individuals, resulting from a loss of brain cells that produce dopamine. While there are many symptoms of Parkinsons disease, there are four main motor symptoms associated with the disease, including: shaking (tremor) at rest, slow movement (bradykinesia), stiffness of the trunk, upper and/or lower limbs, and trouble with balance (postural instability).

Parkinsons disease is not fatal; however, major complicated arise from this disease, and sufferers find it difficult to perform regular, every-day activities. At the present time, there is no cure for Parkinsons disease. In the meantime, researchers continue to look for ways of managing symptoms, as well as preventative strategies that can protect people from developing this debilitating disease.

Previous research has already shown promise regarding the association between tobacco and reduced incidences of Parkinsons disease. However, these studies were not able to pinpoint whether this relationship is due to actual nicotine, or whether it is due to another tobacco component. The newest study set out to discover the specific effects of nicotine containing foods, such as peppers, tomatoes and potatoes, on the development of Parkinsons disease.

Susan Searless Nielson, PhD., and her colleagues looked at 490 newly diagnosed patients with Parkinsons disease and 644 neurologically healthy individuals. The participants were given questionnaires that investigated their self-reported consumption of peppers, tomatoes, tomato juice, and potatoes during adulthood. Other factors such as consumption of other vegetables, age, sex, race, tobacco use and caffeine use were also controlled for.

The results showed that individuals who consumed a lot of nicotine containing foods had a significantly lower risk of developing Parkinsons disease. The same relationship was not seen when all vegetable sources were combined. The relationship was even more significant when looking at how pepper consumption affected Parkinsons disease.

It’s also interesting to note that the researchers found that the protective effects of nicotine foods were seen mainly in men and women who had little or no history of smoking.

While more research is needed to understand the implications from this study more fully, it opens up hopeful doors towards future dietary and natural preventative measures that can be developed in the face of this debilitating disease.

Bel Marra Health Reports on New Research Revealing Food Elements to Reduce Cellulite (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) June 08, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports on a new study revealing a healthy diet containing certain elements can help to reduce cellulite.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/what-can-get-rid-of-that-nasty-cellulite) 80 percent of women in the western world have cellulite and many are desperate to find ways to get rid of it. There are all sorts of potions and lotions on the market that claim to help people get rid of those stubborn dimples on their thighs and buttocks. Scientists argue that there really is no quick fix. In fact, more and more experts believe that a balanced lifestyle is the best way to keep cellulite under control.

Cellulite is a dimpling or cottage cheese effect that skin displays due to the stretching of connective tissues around fat deposits. While many people believe that cellulite is associated with being overweight, research shows that even thin people can have it.

Scientists continue to study the safest and most cost-effective ways to treat cellulite. Interestingly, in recent years scientists have uncovered what they believe is a link between a nutritious diet and cellulite scores to help eliminate that bothersome appearance.

A study published in the U.S National Library of Medicine found that rubbing a spermine-trapping molecule on the thigh could help lower thigh cellulite scores. Spermine is found in a wide range of organism and tissues. It was first found in human semen, but most recently discovered in food. Ground meat, lunch meat, green peas, and cheddar cheese are good sources of food to add into a diet.

This isnt the only evidence that seems to connect diet with cellulite. An Italian study shows that a hormone known as adiponectin appears to act as protection against cellulite in the buttocks. The authors say if you want to keep levels of this hormone from dropping, the best approach is to maintain a good diet; a diet free of fried or fatty foods. Studies have demonstrated that switching to a vegetarian diet can increase adiponectin levels by as much as 19 percent.

Some medical professionals believe a diet rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties is a good way to prevent cellulite. Antioxidants prevent free radicals from weakening connective tissues that often lead to lumps and bumps in the skin. Foods that are high in antioxidants include blueberries, beans, and cranberries.

Doctor Howard Murad is one of the worlds leading experts on skin health. He recommends antioxidants to maximize skin health, including foods that contain vitamins A, C and E. He also suggests polyphenols and bioflavonoids. He calls them skin-nourishing. These nutrients can be found in leafy green vegetables, as well as fruits like oranges, pomegranates, and mangoes.

Murad and his supporters believe that dehydration can increase the appearance of cellulite. Staying hydrated and consuming foods rich in Omega-3, instead of fatty foods, can diminish the appearance of dimples. These meals might include fish, eggs, or omega-3 enriched yogurt.

While there is no magic cure for cellulite, recent research seems to suggest that a healthy diet and exercise can help firm up the skin and a smooth its appearance.

Bel Marra Health Reports on a New Study Revealing a New Approach to Reverse Aging (amazon) (shopzilla)

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 18, 2013

Bel Marra Health, who offers high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, reports a new study that has found a new connection in the brain that might reverse physiological and cognitive components of aging in humans.

As Bel Marra Health reports in its article, (http://www.belmarrahealth.com/anti-aging/hormonally-reversing-the-aging-process) people have been unsuccessfully trying to defy the aging process for decades. But researchers now believe that the hypothalamus may hold the key to everlasting youth. Researchers from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the University of Yeshiva, found that they hypothalamus controls the aging process in mice. Therefore what the researchers discovered could possibly be true in the human population as well.

The report was published in Nature and may lead to the development of new treatment options to defend against diseases associated with aging thus helping people to live longer, healthier lives.

While the hypothalamus is a very small structure in the brain, it is an important structure that is responsible for a number of vital functions in the body. It produces hormones that control the sleep-wake cycle as well as body temperature, hunger, thirst, emotional response and sex drive.

In addition to controlling these functions in the body, the hypothalamus is responsible for releasing hormones from many glands in the body, especially the pituitary gland.

As aging occurs, changes occur to the inflammation levels in various body tissues. Inflammation is also a key characteristic in many diseases associated with aging, including metabolic syndrome, heart disease, neurological disease and several forms of cancer.

Previous research conducted by Dongsheng Cai, M.D., Ph.D. and colleagues has shown that changes in the hypothalamus involving inflammation can contribute to metabolic syndrome. Due to the connection between inflammation and aging, and with inflammation and the hypothalamus, Dr. Cai and his colleagues were interested in how inflammation in the hypothalamus may be involved in the aging process.

Inflammation involves a number of different molecules and a protein complex called NF-kB (nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells). This is at the center of the inflammation process. Because of the significant role that NF-kB plays in inflammation, Dr. Cai and colleagues focused on this protein complex for their current study.

The researchers found that activating the NF-kB protein complex in mice dramatically accelerated the aging process. These results were based on physiological, cognitive and behavioral test factors, where decreases in cognitive and physiological abilities are associated with aging. Results showed that the mice had decreased muscle strength and size, decreased elasticity of skin and a decreased ability to learn new tasks. On the other hand, mice that had a NF-kB pathway blocked in their hypothalamus had slower aging rate and about a 20 percent increased lifespan.

Recent research has possibly found new ways to fight against aging and the decline of brain function that often accompanies aging. Preventing the hypothalamus from creating inflammation by blocking the NF-kB pathway, and increasing neurogenesis with GnRH injections, are two possible strategies that might help people to live longer, healthier lives. This research brings hope to all of those individuals looking for timeless youth.
